Flexible Metal Conduit & Fitting (UL1)

Flexible Metal Conduit & Fitting (UL1)

Kaiflex's UL1 Series covers UL 1 Listed flexible metal conduit (FMC) and matching fittings engineered for dry-location electrical wiring in the United States and Canada. Manufactured from helically wound galvanized steel or aluminum strip, this series is recognized under UL File Number E238089, giving specifiers and importers a verifiable safety record for use in commercial, industrial, and residential raceway systems.

The range includes the PRWG Series (galvanized steel, reduced-wall/Greenfield construction) for general-purpose branch circuit wiring, the XP3 Series square-lock steel conduit for higher crush resistance, the PRWA Series aluminum conduit for lightweight, corrosion-resistant applications, and the XPO Series flexible oval steel conduit designed for office furniture and partition wiring. Each conduit type is paired with a full line of Bx-Flex fittings — set screw, set-in, two-screw, 90-degree squeeze, straight squeeze, and screw-in coupling types — covering trade sizes from 3/8" to 4" for compatible connection to steel and non-metallic boxes.

All products in this series are produced at Kaiflex's own certified factory in Guangde City, Anhui Province, China, with full traceability and consistent quality control for OEM and bulk export orders.

What is UL1 Listed Flexible Metal Conduit used for?

UL1 Listed Flexible Metal Conduit (FMC) is designed for dry-location electrical wiring in commercial, industrial, and residential buildings. Recognized under UL File Number E238089, it provides mechanical protection for conductors while allowing tight bends around obstacles, making it suitable for branch circuits, lighting, and equipment connections where rigid conduit is impractical.

What's the difference between the PRWG and XP3 series?

The PRWG Series is a reduced-wall (Greenfield) galvanized steel conduit built for general-purpose branch circuit wiring. The XP3 Series uses a square-lock profile that interlocks more tightly, giving it higher crush and impact resistance for applications with greater mechanical stress.

Which Bx-Flex fitting type fits my conduit?

Kaiflex offers set screw, set-in, two-screw, 90-degree squeeze, straight squeeze, and screw-in coupling Bx-Flex fittings across trade sizes from 3/8" to 4". The right type depends on your termination point (steel box, non-metallic box, or coupling) and installation angle — contact us with your application details and we can recommend the matching fitting series.
